Sep. 6th, 2014 07:10 am► Rocma does not have much patience for men, and in most cases she automatically hates them and thinks low of them. See how she says things like 'having to rely on a guy is the worst' when Shirogane saves her, how she refers to Shirogane and Yukisada's gender when insulting them, 'guys like this are the worst'. This doesn't extend to children but yeeaaa. She'll automatically think low of any man of age.
► She is not a native of Iceberg Isle. She came from somewhere else when she was in her late teens.
► She was raised by her mother who she had a good relationship, even if she was even more of a live wire than Rocma. She was a tough woman and it was partially from her that Rocma got her hatred of men, as her father had left before she was even born and her mother never quite got over that.
► She's always been an incredibly aggressive person with little patience. It was made worse by losing her best friend but she isn't one to really give into sadness seeing it as a sign of weakness, which probably makes her temper all the worse.
► She was best friends with Mafuyu's mom (potentially more?) who ended up in a similar situation as Rocma's mom (which once more fueled her hatred of men). The two of them had decided to raise 'their' daughter together but Mafuyu's mom was killed by another polar bear a year after her birth.
► That's when Rocma up and took Mafuyu with her to a smaller and more isolated island--Iceberg Isle where she felt she could give the seal a better and safer life.
► Rocma loves Mafuyu with all her heart, and truly considers her, her daughter but she is also one of the biggest sources of stress for her. Even more so than Idate. Rocma wants to do right but her but the fact remains that she herself is still fairly young, she has no idea what a seal needs, and when it comes down to it she just doesn't have the right temperament to be a good mother. She still tries her best.
► Rocma is in her early/mid twenties? Somewhere around there.
► Because of this post I am pegging her at 4'9 because that makes me laugh.
► As much as she dislikes Idate, she does enjoy their fights because of her naturally aggressive nature. It's a good source of stress relief for her no matter how they end up and sometimes she just even has pent of aggression. She's a predator but because of her circumstances she didn't have a lot of opportunity to get that out until Idate.
► As terribly as she treats people like Shirogane (and to a lesser extent Yukisada) she is still incredibly protective of them and pretty much everyone on Iceberg Isle.
► Rocma has infinitely more patience with girls and children. Look how easily she caved into Peracco's advice.
